Canadian born Maureen Murray, is a Licensed Professional Counselor with Rose City Urgent Care and Family Practice. Ms. Murray is a member of the Integrated Behavioral Health team and works with Primary Care Providers as a Behavioral Health Consultant providing comprehensive primary care to all ages.

Maureen earned a Bachelor of Arts with Honours from the University of Regina in 1997 and an interdisciplinary Master of Arts in Canadian Plains Studies in 2003. She worked with Native American and First Nations people in her research, which focused on the role of family, community and spirituality in healing from trauma. As a Licensed Psychologist (master’s level) in Saskatchewan, Canada, Maureen had a successful private practice in Regina, Saskatchewan. She saw children, youth and adults specializing in anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Maureen worked in public health in a hospital setting with both out-patients and in-patients on a psychiatric unit.

Following relocation to Washington State, Maureen earned a second Master’s Degree in 2014 in Counseling Psychology from Saint Martin’s University in Lacey, WA. Ms. Murray has specialized training in Primary Care Behavioral Health through the Center for Integrated Primary Care at UMass Medical School.

Prior to joining Rose City, Maureen worked in the collaborative care model as a Mental Health Specialist with Samaritan Depoe Bay Clinic on the Oregon Coast where she was an integrated team member with a panel of Family Practice providers.

In her practice, Ms. Murray utilizes a person-centered, integrative approach aimed at helping people meet their individual health goals based on values, motivation and practical considerations.  She believes good healthcare involves paying attention not only to physical health, but to emotional health, habits, behaviors, environmental factors and how those things interact with each other.

Maureen’s interests include hiking, collecting old rocks from new places she visits, jewelry making, qigong and looking forward to welcoming a kitten and a puppy into her home in the future.
