Lai Saephan moved to Portland, Oregon three years ago from the San Francisco Bay Area, California. She is a Clinical Social Work Associate with the State of Oregon. Lai earned her Master of Social Work from Portland State University in 2017 and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Sacramento State University in 2010. She has a background in community mental health as well as autism and early psychosis population research. 

Of Iu Mien descent, Lai recognizes the importance of practicing care from a culturally responsive lens with the belief that the traditions and perspectives of all patients should be respected. She believes in a holistic approach to healthcare in which addresses both physical and mental health. Lai wants her patients to leave the clinic feeling informed and empowered about their health decisions. 

Lai is a food enthusiast who enjoys cooking and trying new restaurants. She spends most of her free time outdoors biking, hiking, or skiing. Her other interests include knitting, crafting, and collecting magnets from places she’s visited. She also volunteers as a foster parent to rescue animals at Portland Animal Aid.
